Some
people have the mistaken belief that essential minerals that our
body needs are derived from the water that we drink. The minerals
that we need are organic compounds of minerals which are derived
from the foods that we eat ie. fruits, vegetables and meat and not
from the inorganic compounds of minerals found in water. Eg.we need
organic iron found in vegetables such as spinach and not inorganic
iron such as rust dissolved in water. Similarly we need organic
calcium found in milk, fruits and fish which we cannot replace by
eating a spoonful of limestone, or drinking a cup of slaked lime
The inorganic minerals from water cannot be assimilated into our
body cells but remain on the surface of the cells. Over a period
of years these minerals built up in our joints, arteries and internal
organs. Health specialists believe we experience hardening of the
arteries, arthritis, kidney stones, gall stones, vision problems
such as glaucoma and cataracts, loss of hearing, diabetes, obesity,
emphysema and other ailments in greater intensities and more frequently
when we consume water with high mineral content. |
